On Friday, September 7, 2012 at 5pm the Shenandoah FFA chapter held their second annual AgriaPalooza. This year, according to President Ann McCambridge, was an exceptional year in reference to the attendance, food, and the members’ participation in the event. “287 people were in attendance to this event… I couldn’t be more pleased with the turn out and the participation of the community in this event, despite the weather.” Shenandoah FFA would like to send the deepest thanks to all of their sponsors for AgriPalooza. AgriPalooza would not be possible without the support of the community, members, and sponsors.
Taking place just this past weekend the chapter was able to attend two annual FFA camps called: Leadership Development Workshop (LDW) and Premier Leadership Training (PLT). Members and chapter officers received the chance to interact with the Indiana State FFA association officers during LDW by developing their premier leadership skills through lively activities. District officers attend PLT and spent their days training and gaining skills to use within the newly elected district officer positions. During the duration of PLT participants were offered the opportunity to ask questions to a panel at the Conner Prairie Interactive Museum at the “Feeding the World” presentation. LDW and PLT came to close on Sunday afternoon as seven of Shenandoah members’ joined several hundred other FFA members from around the state at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center in Trafalgar, IN. Indiana FFA is proud to be offering such experiences to students to development their skills in decision making, self-confidence, and ability to effectively lead out loud.
