To be eligible for this grant students must be in grades 7-11 and be a active member of the FFA. Nathan was selected from hundreds of applications nationwide. Nathan stated: "This is a wonderful opportunity for me and plan to use this grant to further and grow my knowledge about agricultural communications." On the note of SAEs, other members from the chapter are preparing their SAE areas for contest. Their proficiencies will be graded and judged at the District level in February.

Middletown- On Friday, January 4, 2012 the Shenandoah FFA chapter had four members travel down to the second CDE (Career Development Event) camp at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center. Shenandoah members’ joined around 40 other FFA members from around the state at the center in Trafalgar, IN. McKenna Resler, a chapter member, stated that: " It was an awesome camp to experience; I gained a deeper knowledge about the various CDEs that Indiana FFA has to offer and has made me really excited for contest this year..." CDE camp is a different from the other camps held by the state association. This camp is geared towards a full "CDE" learning experience. Indiana FFA is proud to be offering such camps and conferences to students to development their skills in decision making, self-confidence, and ability to effectively lead out loud. The New Year has also arrived for our chapter: work, dedication, and perseverance are only a few words that describe the next few months at Shenandoah FFA. The next event that our chapter will participate in is the second LDW (Leadership Development Workshops) at the FFA Leadership Center February 1-3, 2013.
