Middletown – On Sunday, December 16, 2012 the Shenandoah FFA Chapter held its annual Snug Harbor Christmas party for the mentally disabled at the High School. Nearly 135 guests attended the afternoon that was full of fun and laughter. Santa Claus even made an appearance to hand out gifts to each and every guest in attendance. Guests were also treated to a hot meal provided by Barb Addison and live music by Walker County. Shenandoah FFA wants to thank its members for making this year's party a huge success! The NHS and FFA Toy Drive came to a close on Friday, December 14, 2012. The FFA would like to thank the community for their outstanding support in this event. Your contributions helped us in making someone’s Christmas brighter. Shenandoah FFA's and National Honor Society's toy drive has been in existence for over 40 years and has assisted hundreds of families during the holiday season. In other news, FFA members will be traveling on January 4 to the Indiana FFA Leadership Center to engage in the 2012 CDE(Career Development Event) Camp. This camp teaches younger and older members about new or revised CDE contests for the state of Indiana through educational presentations. Again many thanks for assisting Shenandoah FFA in making it another great year and we are already looking forward to next year. Happy Holidays from your local FFA chapter!

Middletown –Shenandoah members’ joined several hundred other FFA members from around the state at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center in Trafalgar, IN during November 16-18. Members were attending the annual F.I.R.E. (Foundations in Reaching Excellence) conference. This year FFA members were treated to the theme of “We have the Magic” which was selected by the Indiana State Officer team. One member of the chapter, Adam Lovan, said “F.I.R.E. was a great opportunity for me and attending has benefited me in many ways such as developing new friends, learning skills for success, and developing a foundation for my future…” Indiana FFA is proud to be offering such experiences to students to development their skills in decision making, self-confidence, and ability to effectively lead out loud. On Friday, November 30th the annual Holiday Fruit Sales came to a close with a tremendous year in sales. Shenandoah FFA is proud to state that the chapter had a very exceptional year in sales when came to member involvement and the overall participation of the community.
Shenandoah FFA remains very busy as we approach the holidays; with the Snug Harbor Christmas Party which will take place on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at noon. Shenandoah FFA is also concluding their annual toy drive with NHS this Friday. Donors are encourage to bring their new or gently used donations to any Shenandoah school office or the Ag shop.
